Basket weave stitch retains it shape very well and provides a warm close texture for this neck warmer. The cowl can be worn with a coat or even without, just as decoration.   1. Hi I purchased this pattern the other day. It looks beautiful to try. I'm only very very beginner knitter. And I'm having trouble understanding some of the notations in the instructions. Could you explain about the notation about "Lines" - why there are Lines 1-8, but also Lines A-I? And also the meaning of "RS"? Thank you! Mabel

  2. Hi Mabel! I'm happy that you chose one of my patterns as one of your first projects :). RS means 'right side', that's the good side or outside of the knitwork.
    I named the second set of lines A-I because the amount of lines in the first set of lines (marked with numbers) differs dependent on the chosen size. But that's just the name I gave them, it does not have a special meaning ;)
