Sewing a blouse!

As the titel already gives away, I have started a new sewing project. I'm making a blouse from a pattern from a dutch sewing magazine. I love to wear blouses, but it's always hard to get one that fits very well, so I decided to make one.

I've worked on it little by little the last few days, but now, the progress is big enough (it actually looks like a blouse!) to show you.

Up until now I'm very pleased with it, and I hope to finish it soon. The sleeves aren't attached yet (tey are pinned on in the picture) and the collar as well.

Still a lot of work to be done. I'll show you the end result, when it's all done.

  2. thanks! I'm thinking of making the sleeves and the top part of the cardigan in another stitches, something with a pattern or with little holes, to make it look less common. First I wanted to do popcorn stitch but I didnt like that so much, and now I'm looking for another... Suggestions anyone ;)?

  3. What about a pattern of eyelets like on these handwarmers? You could do it diagonal like on these or make little eyelet flowers or something?

  4. Hi Eleanor, I can't see a link to a picture or something like that, so I don't know which handwarmers you mean. But I also have another issue with the cardigan. It has a strange looking bump in the side seams. I think I will pin it on my sewing manequin and see how it is. I´ll take a picture. But maybe I will have to start all over ... :( Hehe. But I do have to knit a cardigan for upcoming autumn, maybe in another yarn. I'm not sure yet. First judging what the old one looks like ;)

And ooh dear, It looked like it was going so well in your last post? I'm sure it's something fixable though :)

  6. The pattern looks really nice indeed. I'm not sure whether I'm going to fix it, since I haven't knitting that much on the cardigan yet. I was just knitting some swatches to look for a basic pattern for a camel colored cardigan.
