Check Mate!

After 2 fails, I managed to make a good fitting hat for my boyfriend :) He chose the chess board pattern and the colors, so there was not a lot to do for me besides making it fit.

I like the hat though, and most importantly, he does to. I just wrote up the pattern and I will add it to ravelry later today.

I also started making matching fingerless gloves/gauntlets. He already has a nice pair of leather gloves, but they are quite short. I'm making a knitted fingerless pair to wear on top of the leather ones.

  1. Turned out very nicely! Colorwork can be such a pain sometimes, so good for you for sticking with it.

  2. Thnx! I actually had a problem with the colorwork in the beginning. The knitwork looked a little like ribbing, but I overcame the problem by twisting the yarn in the back asymmetrically.
